1920: living with grandson Paul Harvey at 2146 S. Delaware, Indianapolis. He received a Civil War pension for his service in Company E, Indiana 148th Volunteer Infantry, paid until about March, 1923. While some records show his name as Aldridge, others, including the pension records, show the name as Aldrich. His name is on the family gravestone in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Waverly, Morgan Co., Indiana, but only his date of birth is shown, with a space where the date of death should be. The dates are complete, on the same stone, for his wife Sarah. The names and dates of birth for their two children Edward and Mary are also on the same stone, again with no death dates. It is very likely that only Sarah was actually buried there. The pension payment card on FamilySearch.org shows a notation "Transferred to Mo." There is no record that he died in Missouri, and we did not find him on any census after 1920.
