ACV Fh 122 (fol. 59, 22 nov 1442) includes a reconnaissance for Johannodus Lovat of Bougier Sancti Martini for property that had come from his grandfather also called Johannodus Lovat. So far, nothing has been found to clarify this genealogy. It is possible that there were three men of the same name in three successive generations.

He is apparently the same Nicodus Lovat who, with his brother Johannodus, made a reconnaissance for the Confratria Sancti Spiritus of Aubonne on 30 jun 1368 (ACV Fh 103, fol. 80v), and later, 07 jul 1399, with his nephew Johannodus, presumably the son of the first Johannodus (fol. 81). The same Nicodus (predictus Nicodus Lovat de Bougier Sancti Martini) also made a donation pro remedio anime sue on 02 jun 1370 (fol. 82). By 03 mar 1425, he had died, leaving a daughter Ysabella (Fh 102, fol. 12).

The de Loys genealogy ACV P Loys 4520/1 identifies him as a "posthume", who settled at Evian and was the ancestor of the branch of the family in Savoie. There seem to be other opinions about his origins in other parts of the de Loys papers. P Loys 4520/1 contains a table of his descendants, which merits further study. The manuscript cites his marriage contract signed by Petrus de Molendino (notaries of this family were prominent in the district of Avenches) 24 aug 1495.
The table of descendants mentioned above calls him Stephanus Jaquerod alias Loys, and gives him a different pedigree, as well as a brother Amedeus. The pedigree of this Stephanus makes him the son of Johannes, son of Coletus, son of Perronetus, son of Jaquerod Loys de Lausanne, cited as burgensis Aquiani (that is, citizen of Evian) in 1372, by which time he apparently had been married twice. An unknown later annotator of this table cites the opinion (1730) that this Jaquerod Loys was a son of the original Antoine, but without confronting the issue of chronology. The table brings this line down to 1669. One of the notations in the original table says, under the entry for Johannes Jaquerod alias Loys, "c'est par lui que M. de V. commence la généalogie de la branche de Savoie; il n'avait pu découvrir son alliance." This person, M. de V., is mentioned in other annotations in this table. The content of the table itself seems to date from about 1670, but the form of the table, the careful script, the accurate and consistent punctuation, and the modern usage of spelling and accents, strongly suggests that it was copied in its present form at a much later date, possibly as late as the early 19th Century, after which additional notations were made, possibly in the same hand, with several different inks or pencils.
