She is identified as Catherine, daughter of Nicod Gillard, and widow of Gaspard de la Planche in a citation made in a terrier of 1620 (ACV Ff 166, fol. 193v ff) to a previous terrier compiled by Jehan Gignilliat, and dating from approximately 1538-1542, based on the famous people who are mentioned as living in other citations to the same terrier. Moreover, her late husband is said in the citation of 1620 to have been the same Gaspard de la Planche who made a "reconnaissance" for the same property in the next previous terrier, compiled by Pierre Marchand. The terrier of Pierre Marchand, not yet identified, would likely have been compiled approximately a generation earlier, perhaps around 1500.
However, the inventories of the ACV describe a quitclaim by Catherine fille de Nicod Billiard, rather than Gillard, this Nicod identified as bourgeois de Lausanne and châtelain de Chesaux, wife of Gaspard de Planchia, for the receipt of her dowry, to her father, her mother Peroneta, and her brother Franciscus (ACV P Loys 368, dated 23 nov 1512, notary Pierre Marchand). As there are many citations concerning this Nicod Billiard and his family, we accept Billiard as the correct name.

He was an "artisan" from Essertines who worked at Lausanne, possibly as a builder, many references in documents inventoried by the ACV 1488-1518, with wife Peronetta and son François (cited well after his death as noble, 1580), who was a notary, wife Jeanne Pavillard, and daughters Catherine, wife of Gaspard de Planchia, and Alix, wife of Michel François.
