Youngest child of Roger and Mary Underwood Brownson, her birth was not recorded in the baptismal registers of Earl's Colne, but probably born shortly before her mother's death....Mary was a 17th century teenager when she accompanied her brothers to Hartford and there she became almost, but not quite, a juvenile delinquent. There are some interesting tales about this girl, who was hastily married off to Nicholas Desbrorough or Disborough. She died before 1670, but date not recorded.

[15154] In NEHGR 12 (Jan. 1858) is an article entitled Church Records of Farmington in Connecticut by Daniel Goodwin. Under the heading of John Wyatt, we find that his wife, Mary, joined the Church of Farmington, October 9, 1653.
Baptismal records of their children follow: Mary Wyatt, Jun., was baptized on October 23, 1653, aged about 6 years. Also baptized that day were other children: John, about 4 years; Hepzibah, aged about one year.
According to Goodwin, the other children were baptized in the same church but dates are missing. He then goes on to give the following ages of the children in 1668: Dorcas, age 13; Sarah, age 9; Joanna, age 5, and Elizabeth, age 3. Were these the ages of the children at the time of their father's death in 1668?
Little else is known about this Wyatt family and, aside from Elizabeth, I have not added the other children to my database. Further exploration of the Connecticut church and other records will be necessary to be sure this is the right Wyatt family.
There is another John Wyatt in my database that ties in with the Allyn line (see Whiting binder). There does not seem to be a tie between the two families, other than they came from England. Frequently the 2d Wyatt line has been spelled "Wyott" and I have used that spelling to avoid confusion.
Mary survived all four husbands and, just possibly, she may have married a fifth one, and she may be lurking in a Connecticut Valley cemetery under a name no one suspects. Place of death probably MA.
