Her testament dated 05 mar 1388 is in the de Blonay collection, ACV PP 637 V/9/2/018. It names as her universal heirs her husband Nicod de Blonay and her daughters Isabelle and Guillemette. Her marriage to Nicod was around 1356, as there is an "assignation de dot", dated 14 jun 1356 (ACV PP 637 V/9/2/002).
Marriage contract recorded by Pierre Moron, père, mentions two uncles of Alixa.
There is some confusion on relationships. The marriage of Johannes Grissod and Alixone de Granges features her uncles (avunculi) Vuilliermus Tyndro alias Pucel and Anthonius Mecza. Vuilliermus and Anthonius appear to be of the same generation in this document (22 nov 1467, Pierre Moron, père, notary at Payerne). But a document of the same notary dated 12 nov 1474, testament of Claudia dicta Pucella, widow of the late Pierre Montanna (?) of Payerne, names as heirs her brother Vuilliermus Tyndro alias Pucel, and Margarita daughter of Anthoine Mecza her uncle. Unless, as occasionally happens, "patrem" has been mistakenly replaced by "fratrem" by the copyist, the second document makes Anthonius one generation earlier than Vuilliermus (or is this a second Vuilliermus, son of the first one, making Claudia the daughter of the first Vuilliermus Tyndro alias Pucel?). Or, perhaps there were two Anthonius, father and son. No later equivalent of the surname Mecza has been deduced; this notary frequently inserts a "c" where some other consonant would belong today, writing Tecta for Testaz, etc. It is possible that Mecza should be understood as Mestaz or something similar. (Another document of Pierre Moron, père, 21 feb 1468, involves a transaction, possibly a donation, by Vuilliermus Pucel and Alixone his wife to Anthonius Mecza "eorum nepoti" for his many kindnesses...) Even without speculating on the possibility that the term uncle in the marriage contract was used loosely, we are left without a clear indication of how Alixone, wife of Johannes Grissod, is related to Vuilliermus Pucel and Anthonius Mecza.
A Wllem or Vuilliermus Pucel turns up also in an earlier testament by Stephanus Arnauldi, barbitonsor of Payerne, associated with a Johannes Pucel (notary J. Bellin, ACV Dp 8, fol. 25v, dated 10 apr 1443).

Mentioned in a document in the communal archives of Payerne, 26 apr 1420. He was also among those interviewed in connection with the revolt against the monks of Payerne in that year, and noted in the transcript of the inquiry as a resident of Payerne. Later documents appear to assume that the family was originally associated with Granges-près-Payerne, from the coincidence that, in 1540, property in the hands of Daniel du Mont, "prédicant" at "Grangiz", apparently meaning Granges-près-Marnand, had been owned in the past by the "de la Grangiz" family. The property, however, was not in Granges-près-Payerne at all, but rather at Neirmont, evidently the same as modern Neyremont, a lieu-dit in the modern commune of Payerne. In any event, the document of 1540 (a copy in ACV Aa 12/5, no. 1265) gives us another possible rendering of the name in French.
He is mentioned (Henricus de Granges) as an adjacent landholder in a "reconnaissance" by Jaquetus Perriard of Payerne for property subject to the Abbey of Payerne 09 feb 1431 (ACV Aa 12/3, no. 471, notary Nycodus Girard). The same collection includes other reconnaissances recorded within a few days by the same notary, at least two of which (Aa 12/3, no. 490, and Aa 12/4, no. 605) mention a Huguetus Grangie, already deceased, whose widow was Johanneta, and whose daughter Mermeta had married Jaquetus Gavaret. The similarity of the names suggests that Huguetus Grangie might also have been the father of Henricus de Granges.
He is mentioned several times in the registers of Petrus de Trevaul, notary of Payerne (ACV Dp 108/1 and 108/2). In one such citation (Dp 108/2, fol. 62v, dated 03 apr 1418), there is a mention of a bequest made by the first wife of Henricus de Granges, but her name is not given.
Her existence is noted in a transaction in the surviving register of the notary Jacobus Bellin (ACV Dp 8, fol. 150), dated 15 oct 1457: Janneta filia quondam Henrici de Granges uxor Johannis de Vallangino clericus Paterniaci sells to Berthodus ? filius Johannis Nibloz burgensis eiusdem loci Paterniaci, appears to name Francesie as wife of this Berthodus, badly faded and stained. However, by 1471, the wife of Johannes de Valangino was Johanneta Cussard (Johannes de Trevaul, notary, ACV Dp 107, fol 26a).

Bourgeois of Payerne, but noted as resident of St. Aubin-en-Vully from about 1464 (documents of Pierre Moron, père, notary at Payerne). He was deceased by 22 nov 1467 (same notary), when the marriage contract of his daughter was executed. From the fact that the only relatives of his daughter who were present for that contract were two "uncles" Vuilliermus Pucel and Anthonius Mecza, we suppose that Jaquetus de Granges had no living sons at that date.
The terrier ACV FL 399, for the church of St. Veran in Bellerive, contains an intriguing reconnaissance by Franciscus Panchiviaz of St. Aubin (fol. 305, dated in 1486), who had just obtained rights to a property from Bartholomeus Gachet, who had obtained it at some point from Margareta, wife (not widow) of Jaquetus de Granges junior of St. Aubin. The property, originally in two parcels, had been recognized in 1456 by Petrus Soutier (FL 393, fol. 182), but it seems not to appear in FL 398, dating from 1471-1473. It is possible that by 1471, the original debt from which the cense was due in 1456 had been redeemed, and so during that period the property was not subject to the church of St. Veran. In any event, it is not yet possible to say whether the Jaquetus de Granges junior mentioned in FL 399 is the same Jaquetus de Granges who was the father of the wife of Johannes Grissod. The dates make this feasible — in which case it is probably the case that Henricus de Granges had two sons named Jaquetus — but we need to locate more citations of these people.
Part of the answer appears in another terrier, AEF Grosses St. Aubin 23, fol. 14v, dated 23 feb 1483, in which property is recognized by Glaudius Soutier alias de Granges filius quondam Jaqueti de Granges et Margarete quondam conjugum filie quondam Petri Soutier de Sancto Albino en Vuilliez, and previously recognized by Petrus Soutier, maternal grandfather of Glaudius. The language is somewhat ambiguous as to whether Margareta is still living, but clearly Glaudius had reached the age of majority and was therefore born before 1458, and his parents in turn would have been born before about 1440, of the same generation as Alixa, wife of Johannes Grissod. It is to be noted that Glaudius is known both by his father's and his mother's family names. From the dates, then, we might surmise that Jaquetus de Granges junior was in fact a brother of Alixa, and it is still possible that Jaquetus junior had already died before 1467 (leaving a minor son Claudius, too young to be a party to a contract), thus explaining the absence in Alixa's 1467 marriage contract of any relatives from the de Granges family.
[2473] Deceased by 22 nov 1467, still alive 01 apr 1465.

Bourgeois de Cossonay, according to his widow's subsequent marriage contract, 29 apr 1566. His testament was dated 09 aug 1563, according to secondary sources (Mémoires et documents publiés par la Société d'histoire de la Suisse Romande, sér. 1, 23:343). This is the branch of the noble family de Gruyère often called de Gruyère-Aigremont.

For want of a comma in the testament of his father, it is not clear whether there were two sons, Jean François and Pierre, or three sons, Jean, François, and Pierre, by Claude Chalon, second wife of François de Gruyère.

A document recorded 26 aug 1562 by Jean Jaquier, notary at Moudon (ACV DL 53/1 fol. 91), notes that Jean Vucherens, bourgeois de Moudon, has received payment of the marriage settlement of his wife Urbannaz, daughter of the late Jaques Facioz, in the form of a bequest from the testament of the late Noble Mayre de Gruyre, wife of Egrège Roulx Demont, notaire et bourgeois de Moudon. Since Urbannaz must have been old enough for marriage by about 1560, her mother, wife of Jaques Facioz, must have been born no later than 1530, and therefore Maire de Gruyre must have been born no later than about 1510. It seems very likely that her name was in fact de Gruyère.
