Late in his life, Pierre's wife is identified as Anne Frossard. So far, no information has surfaced to indicate when the first wife died and the second was married. Anne Frossard also appears as his widow in 1640-41. Therefore, it is not yet possible to say which of Pierre's children belong to which mother, although it is clear from his testament that at least Magdelaine belongs to his first wife and Esther to his second wife.

Identified as a brother of George Gilliand in a transaction recorded by Antoine Richard, notary at Moudon, 05 may 1604 (ACV DL 80 fol. 26), followed by a document that appears to identify Claude son of Pierre Gilliand as their nephew (but the reference is grammatically defective, "Claude fils de Pierre Gilliand ses nepveux"!). The terrier ACV Fn 343 (1591) reveals that Bernard was the son of the late Claude Gilliand.
