Identified as son of the late Jaques Dutoit in document of Jaques Crausaz, 22 mar 1702. A register (ACV DL 92) of Abraham Dutoit, notary at Moudon, mentions David Dutoit, maréchal, and his wife Ursule Badoux. The death record for a David Dutoit in 1757 is likely his, but the LDS microfilmed only the index, not the actual document, so we can't be sure if this might be a different David. There is also a record for a David who died 26 nov 1741, no age given.

When his widow remarried in 1753, he is identified as Samuel Dutoit of Aigle, bourgeois of Moudon. We may also be able to identify him with the late Samuel Dutoit of Moudon, St.-Légier, La Chesay, and Chavannes, whose son Jean François married in
1751 (possibly at Vevey?). By 17 nov 1742, he was in military service in Holland (Daniel Antoine Jossevel, notary at Moudon). He is the Samuel Dutoit who assisted his sister Louise in various documents 1735-1736, Samuel Briod, notary.
The circumstances of his military service are quite singular, as his testament of 08 may 1742 recounts (Jaques David Burnand, notary and curial at Moudon):
"Au nom de Dieu Amen, Il est ainsy que le Sieur Samuel Denys Dutoit bourgeois de Moudon, se voyant obligé d'aller dans le Service Millitaire de Leurs Hautres Puissances des Estats d'Hollande à cause des manières brutales, violentes, et point sociables
de Marie Veyre sa femme..." He leaves everything to his first cousin Jean Dutoit son of the late Jean Jaques Dutoit de Moudon, and specifically excludes his wife. The testament was probated 06 jan 1745, so it is likely that he died while in military
service.

Apparently, she is the Dorothée Dutoit wife of Isaac Viret who loaned money to Bernard Merguex of Lausanne 30 dec 1687 (Jaques Besson, notary at Lausanne). She had a sister Anthoinnaz who seems to have loaned her and Isaac Viret 62 florins toward
their marriage (07 mar 1691, Philibert Del'Isle, notary at Lausanne). Dorothée also had a brother-in-law Jaques DuBrit of Moudon (or was that the brother-in-law of the debtor Bernard Merguex?). At Moudon, there seems to be no mention of a Jaques
DuBrit with a wife named Dutoit, but one of the Sebastien DuBrits did have a wife Jeanne Dutoit mentioned several times in the 1670's, about whom nothing else is know.

Cited as hoste at Moudon 30 mar 1629 (Baltazard DeCristaz, notary). The same notary recorded a document in which Elie Dutoit is acting as guardian for the children of he late brother Pierre Dutoit, for land at Vulliens. Still alive 27 feb 1630, when he acknowledges a debt of 480 florins to Jean Baptiste Seigneux the elder of Lausanne (Pierre Cavin, notary at Lausanne, ACV DG 51/33).
He is also cited as a tisserand (weaver) several times in the terrier ACV Fn 356, and, fol. 297 (25 feb 1621), we learn that Elie was a cousin of a Jaques Dutoit, tisserant.
