Known most often as Louis. Catechumen at Bercher, 1736. His late marriage to Jeanne Marie Carrard suggests he might have been the George Louis Dutoit who married Marguerite Bridel and baptised a son Vincent at Livorno, Italy, 27 aug 1750 (this record courtesy of Matteo Giunti, Italy). The is a later marriage at Livorno to Elizabeth David of Geneva, several years before he next appears in the registers at Bercher. No further mentions are found in the protestant records at Livorno.

The sponsors at the baptism were George, Pierre, and Elie Bourgeois. It is possible this is an error for George Bourgeois and Pierre Elie Bourgeois, the latter was the sponsor for George's brother Pierre Elie in 1752. Pierre Elie Bourgeois the sponsor was banneret of La Palud in 1752.

Documents recorded by Rodolphe Demont, notary in the vicinity of Moudon, contain several mentions of "Guido Detecto de Cabanis supra Meldunum parroche de Mollens dyocessum Lausannensis" (Cabanis is modern Chavannes, Mollens is modern Morlens in Fribourg—note that Chavannes was part of the parish of Morlens prior to the Reformation). In one of these, 15 oct 1519, he appears to be donating money for the celebration of mass at Chavannes. His sons sold vineyards to Maurice son of the late Claude Detecto 24 aug 1528, recorded by the same notary. Still alive in 1522.
His testament was recorded 14 may 1512 by Michel Frossard, notary at Moudon. He asks to be buried next to his father and to his late brother Nicod at the church of St. Maurice at Morlens; bequests to various religious organizations; sons Rolet, Jean, and Antoine; daughter Jeanne wife of Nicod Cons of Vuarmarens, Claudia wife of Claude Jordannaz of Carrouges, and Guillermette wife of Jean Roch.
However, there is a conflict in the records. Some of the later records identify his father as Vuilliermus. A series of terriers in the cantonal archives of Fribourg (AEF Grosses de Rue, especially numbers 81, 89, and 120) mention apparently the same Guido de Tecto as the son of a Roletus de Tecto. In fact, this seems a more plausible paternity, since the name Roletus appears several times in this family, and the name Vuilliermus does not. But that leaves us wondering why the name of his father was given later by the notaries of Moudon as Vuilliermus.
For the part of the "decima" of Chavannes that came from the Cerjat family and was eventually held by Guido de Tecto, there are some hints in the rentier Fn 20, dating from about 1443. The section for the parish of Morlens (written Mollens at that time) includes a Jacobus de Tecto (but no others of that family), and entries for the "decima" de Cabanis.
