He bought property at a public sale 26 jan 1726 (Jean Daniel Dutoit, notary at Moudon). The document gives his parentage as son of David Dutoit dit André. He appears to be the most likely Abraham David of his generation to have married Susanne Martin in 1724. The other candidates are the son of Baltazard Dutoit who settled in Geneva and died there, and the son of the other David Dutoit, born in 1704, of whom no further information has been found.

Baptismal entry has Pierre (lined out) Abraham (part of original entry, not lined out) David (inserted above the line) Dutoit. Shortly after his first marriage, his children are reported in the registers at Moudon as having been baptised at Thoules (also Toules, Tholes, etc., identified as a farm within the commune of Moudon). Possible confusion with goldsmith Abraham son of Jean Jaques Dutoit and Elizabeth Frossard, unless, as we now think, it is a case of one Jean Jaques with two wives, and only one Abraham.
Not mentioned in a family document of 1737, so we thought he might have died before that date. However, he is still at Thoules 16 nov 1742, when "Abraham Dutoit de Moudon demeurant à Thoules" borrows money from the widow of the late minister Dutoit, formerly pasteur at Thierrens, represented by his son François Dutoit (Jaques Rodolphe Joly, notary), and again 30 jul 1760 (Jaques Daniel Burnand, notary).
A document recorded by Gabriel Chollet, notary at Moudon, 15 mar 1753 reveals the next part of his story. Abraham Dutoit son of the late Jean Jaques, goldsmith, transfers to Lt. Faucherres of the Grand Council of Moudon the right to operate a tavern in his (Dutoit's) house called the Eagle (l'Aigle) on the Rue de Grenadaz (or Grenade!), with provisions in case Dutoit later decides to sell the property. The records of Jaques David Burnand, notary and Curial at Moudon, include mention (19 mar 1760, evidently the actual settlement was recorded in the minutes of the court at Moudon) of a "cession d'Indivision de la Maison ditte à L'Aigle", decided in favor of Abraham Dutoit, one of the "indivis" (i.e., tenants in common).
However, it is known that Elizabeth Frossard was the second wife of Jean Jaques Dutoit the chaudronnier. The first wife might have been the mother of the Abraham cited in 1753, who could be Abraham David Dutoit, armorer and goldsmith, son of Jean Jaques Dutoit and Esther Chambut. In order to resolve this puzzle, we need to locate a mention of the occupation of Esther Chambut's husband, or else a reference that gives the names of both of Jean Jaques Dutoit's wives.
In records of Jean Daniel Crausaz, notary at Moudon, there are several mentions in 1738 of Abraham Dutoit "le jeune" son of the late Jean Jaques Dutoit, probably this man. At that time, the previous Abraham Dutoit "le jeune", son of Isaac Dutoit and Susanne DeVallonné, had died, and so the son of Jean Jaques now took that title.
The matter seems to be settled by a series of documents recorded by Jaques David Burnand, notary and Curial at Moudon, 30 jul 1760, involving settlement of debts of the late Jean Dutoit, son of the late Jean Jaques Dutoit, both chauderonniers and citizens of Moudon. Jean's brother is identified as living at Thoules, and another brother André is mentioned. By 1762, Abraham himself (still at Thoules) had fallen on hard times. His debts had reached such a sum that his assets were liquidated in a public sale (09 nov 1762, records of the same notary).

Evidently also served as conseiller, unless confused with some other "Isaac Dutoit" in the baptismal records at Moudon, 25 sep 1755. His death record specifies that he had married both Carran and Jossevel. He is usually referred to as Isaac. A document recorded by Antoine Jossevel, notary at Moudon, dated 01 feb 1735, notes that Isaac has just returned from about three years of military service in Holland, and has discovered that his father Albert sold a house in his absence and against his wishes.
It is tempting to try to identify this Isaac Dutoit with the Sergeant Isaac Dutoit who also served in Holland and married 19 jan 1741 to Sebastienne Givel, widow of a Dubrit. However, Abraham Isaac Dutoit's wife Alexandrine Carran did not die until 1745, and he remarried in 1747. The Sergeant married Sebastienne while Alexandrine was still alive, and Sebastienne is mentioned in notarial records after Abraham Isaac's second marriage. They could not be the same person.

One baptism gives his name as Abraham Isaac Dutoit, but no other reference gives anything besides Abraham. The church records at Moudon do not give clarification. Records at Mézières clarify relationships. It is possible that he has been confused in the original records with Abraham Isaac Dutoit, teinturier and conseiller.
