The notary Jean Jaquier of Moudon recorded proceedings before the probate court ("cour de justice") of Moudon 28 feb 1616 in which Daniel and David Dutoit testify that they had taken in their relative Alexandre Veyre many years ago and provided for him in his old age. Alexandre therefore named them his heirs (citation of donation recorded by Jaques Jayet, notary at Moudon, 15 dec 1615), and the court granted them authority to administer his estate. Alexandre was their great-uncle; he had died about two weeks prior to the presentation before the cour de justice.
It is possible that the Alexandre who died in 1615 is not the same one cited in earlier records. For example, the terrier ACV Fn 347 contains several mentions of children of the late Alexandre Veyre (Pierre, Jehan, and Rodz) about 1592.

She was already dead 09 mar 1556 when her husband Claude du Tey made a "reconnaissance" for her property held by their minor children Claude and Rose du Tey (ACV Fn 89, fol. 499). It is not entirely clear if the child Claude was a male or a female. However, there is no mention of other sons Jean and Jaques, a fact that might be explained in several ways:

The burial record gives no age, but does indicate that she was a widow.
She had an uncle Nicolas Veyre, who appears at a baptism in 1727. The surname is spelled several ways, Vesre, Vère, Vére, Veyre... which seems to indicate some uncertainty about how to render the vowel. We chose Veyre as the most typical spelling in the 17th-18th Centuries. However, in this case, the name may be something else, distinct from the Veyre family native to the area around Moudon.
