Mentioned as the sister of Hieronime son of the late Rolet Dutoit in a document of Rodolphe Demont, notary at Moudon, 29 sep 1555. The same notary also recorded a settlement between Antheine and her husband with Jaques Dutoit, probably her brother, 18 mar 1569 (ACV DL 53/4). She is probably the Anthoenne Duthey daughter of Rolet cited as a property owner at Chavannes in 1568.
She made a "reconnaissance" in 1591 (ACV Fn 345 fol. 10, not yet examined) for her son François—this document gives the name of her late husband's father.

Identified in various documents of Claude Blanc, notary at Oron, as brother of Louis Dutoit of Vuarmarens and son of Jean Dutoit of that place. His wife is identified in the testament of Jean Margueron "aultrement Doges" recorded by the same notary 25 dec 1557. When, on 07 nov 1566, he and his wife sell vineyards at Palézieux to Pierre Doge alias Margueron, it is noted that the land is held jointly with the notary Guillaume Perrod. His son "Jean Dutoit de Palézieux" begins to appear in notarial records in the 1570's.

We are searching for confirmation that the Antoine who married Estiennaz Dutoit was the tonnelier. If not, the son Jean Jaques is attached to the wrong family! Antoine the Officier de Chavannes is identified with parentage in 1727 (Daniel Antoine Jossevel, notary). He seems to have inherited his position as "officier de Chavannes" from his father.

While little remains of the records of the notaries of the district of Oron, there are scattered references to Antoine Dutoit of Palézieux in the records of the notaries of Moudon, Vevey, and Lavaux. The basis for the present genealogy is a settlement recorded by Claude de Place, notary at Lutry (ACV DI 48/11), dated 21 feb 1578, preceded by a document on the same subject recorded by the same notary 13 may 1576 (ACV DI 48/7). These documents establish that property at Cully had been acquired (probably by inheritance, given the way the relationships are phrased) before 15 may 1501 by Claude son of Antoine du Tey of "Pallexieu" of his wife the late "Endriette" daughter of the late Catherine wife of Pierre Chuy. This Claude died before 1545, leaving children Jean, Claude, and Jeannette, as well as two brothers Jean and Perrod of Vuarmarens, parish of Morlens, and these heirs executed a settlement 28 aug 1545, recorded by Henri Perriard. By 1576, François "du Tey" and his "nephew" Claude du Tey were arguing about the inheritance of a part of this property. While the text deciphered so far does not give a clear picture of how the younger Claude is related to François, the preceding generations are stated very clearly.
Armed with this information, we see several references to the same family in the records of Michel Frossard, notary at Moudon (ACV DL 43, especially DL 43/3). Among others, there is a marriage contract of 01 (?) jan 1503 between Pierre DeTecto of Vuarmarens, son of the late Anthoine DeTecto "de Pallexieux" (accompanied by Johannes "dou Tey", relationship not clearly stated) to Roleta, daughter of Pierre Gasconel, with her brother Claude Gasconel of "Mollens" (Morlens). Before 1503, there are several references to the same Pierre Gasconel with his first wife Antonia, and associations between the families as early as 1496 (Pierre Gasconel of Morlens recognizes a debt to Nicod Detecto of Chavannes, 24 dec 1496). By 21 jan 1506, Roleta Gasconel had died, and Pierre married again to Roleta, daughter of Jacobe Rubat of Morlens. On 31 may 1507, François Conet of Montet sold to Roleta, wife of Pierre de Tecto of Vuarmarens the rights of redemption for property that the late Claude de Tecto, brother of Pierre, had sold to François. Finally, 26 apr 1517, the testament of Jacobe Rubat of Morlens names as heirs (among others) his beloved daughter Roleta, wife of Perrod de Tecto, and Jeannette her sister wife of Jean dou Tey. Jacobe's late sister Guillermette is nameed as the wife of Pierre Gasconel and mother of Gasconel's surviving children Claude, Jean, and Claudia. In addition, Jacobe names a daughter Jaquette, and his wife Perrisone.
As yet, no mention of Antoine's relationship to the other Dutoit of Vuarmarens has been found. It may be useful in this regard to review the registers of Michel Frossard for passages that were not deciphered earlier.

A reconnaissance in the terrier ACV Fn 343, for property subject to the Château de Moudon, concerns Anthoine filz de feuz Jeremoz Duthey, tisserant et bourgeois de Mouldon (fol. 73, 04 jun 1591).
Unfortunately, it has not yet been possible to distinguish this Anthoine from at least one other apparently baptising children in Moudon before 1600. There are several children of Antoine before and after the marriage date of this one, and no indications in the baptismal records that would distinguish them. One of them had daughters Isabel, Andréaz, and Françoise, all married before 1598 (Jaques Richard, notary).
The Bernard Dutoit who lived at Bressonaz in the early 1600's appears to be his son, as there are no other baptisms that could be his. The Jean Dutoit, weaver ("tisserand"), who lived at Bressonaz in the 1620's and who married Jeanne Porchet is identified at least twice as a son of Antoine, and the corresponding baptism identifies the father as a weaver. Antoine the weaver also baptised one more son at Moudon in 1597, Jaques. It is not certain that all of these children belong in the same family, but it is possible that "tisserand" was mentioned in the church records precisely because it was the best way to distinguish among the various men having the same name. On the other hand, "tisserand" seems to be the most popular occupation in Moudon, according to Fn 343.

Son of Jaques, but it is not clear which one. Not son of "Gros Jaques", if we have understood the family of the latter; not the son of "Jacobé". In both cases, the present Antoine seems too old, as he was married in 1584. No children identified, but that is mostly because the baptisms at Moudon do not name the mothers at this period, resulting in considerable confusion.
His daughters and heirs made a "reconnaissance" on 22 mar 1592 (ACV Fn 347, fol. 110), thus proving that Antoine had died before that date, as had his other children, evidently. The heirs were:
There is considerable uncertainty about the early Antoine Dutoit's! How many were there? For the moment, in the absence of any attempt in the parish registers to distinguish one Antoine from another by noting occupation, filiation, or a dit name, we started by attaching all of the earliest children to the same man. There is a gap between 1579 and 1585 when the next batch of children begins, and by 1588, there are clearly two Antoine's, or else one of the children baptised that year is illegitimate.
A record of 1598 (Jaques Richard, notary at Moudon) notes that three daughters of one of the Antoine's were already married by that date, named Isabeau, Andréaz, and Françoise. Now, there was an Isabeau daughter of Antoine baptised in 1588, but she would obviously be too young for marriage. We think it likely that she, as well as Zabey daughter of Jaques Dutoit baptised in 1587, was named for the original Isabeau (equivalent to Elizabeth) who was then recently married. Although the sponsors were not recorded at this period in Moudon, the pattern a bit later would be for women of marriageable age (and just past the age of confirmation) to appear as sponsors at baptisms, as if to put them on display in the church to attract a suitor. The Elizabeth daughter of Antoine who was baptised in 1569 would have reached the age of 18. If this is the correct Elizabeth, her sisters Andréaz and Françoise would have been older, born before the surviving register of baptisms at Moudon, which begins 25 jan 1568. The terrier ACV Fn 347 (fol. 110) reveals that these three sisters, heirs of the late Antoine (22 mar 1592), were the grandchildren of Maurice Dutoit son of Claude. A similar reconnaissance is in Fn 349 (fol. 471v).
It is possible, since the notarial records seem to be silent about brothers of the three sisters, that the Antoine whose children are baptised between 1572 and 1576 was someone else. However, it is equally plausible that all the rest died in childhood.
At least we can rule out that Antoine father of Elizabeth/Isabeau was the Antoine of Vevey. The latter is referred to as "bourgeois de Vevey" in the records of Clement Butty, while the same notary calls the father of Isabeau "bourgeois de Moudon". Also, the terrier ACV Fn 347 tells us that the Antoine in Vevey was the son of Louis Dutoit (fol. 76), while the Antoine who left the three daughters was the son of the late Maurice Dutoit son of Claude (fol. 110). The remaining unattached children of an unknown Antoine are retained here, pending further discoveries.

Resident at Vevey from at least 1585. A number of transactions involving him and his estate were recorded by François Chevalley, notary at Vevey. He was married to Louise Amey by 21 nov 1585 (on that date they sell land at Blonay), and was dead by 02 jul 1593, when his brother Pierre appears as tuteur of Antoine's daughter Claudine in a dispute regarding an inheritance from the mother of Louise Amey.
Represented by his cousin Jean son of Claude Dutoit, Antoine being at that time a resident of Vevey, he made two "reconnaissances" on 22 mar 1592 (ACV Fn 347 fol. 76 and Fn 349 fol. 457v) for property at Chavannes-sur-Moudon.

The identification is based on information from the terriers, but there may be confusion with other Antoines who were sons of men called Jaques Dutoit. One of them was governor of Chavannes in 1604. One of them married Françoise Buttet, but that one would have been too old to be a son of "Gros Jaques" Dutoit and his wife. If we have correctly untangled the records, "Gros Jaques" Dutoit was the one who married Marie Pache in 1574, and the Antoine son of Jaques who married Françoise Buttet celebrated his wedding only 10 years later. At first, we thought that the present Antoine had married Françoise Buttet and also Marguerite Debetaz, but it now seems more likely that these are two different men.
The present Antoine made two "reconnaissances" on 14 oct 1593 (ACV Fn 347 fol. 53 and Fn 349 fol. 446). preceded in each terrier by the reconnaissances of his brothers Jaques and Pierre.
