Son of the late Albert Dutoit according to the marriage contract of 1768. Albert is identified through his death record in 1750, and he is certainly not the same Albert whose daughter Susanne married in Geneva the next year.
Jeremie André was one of the André Dutoits mentioned in notarial records of Geneva. A document of Jean Jaques Choisy, notary, 11 jun 1745, has André Dutoit acting for his first cousin Jean Antoine Dutoit of Bercher in reference to a debt. This would
have to be a different Jeremie André, apparently another son of Joseph Dutoit of Bercher. A document of 1754 seems to concern a similar debt, and reveals that Jean Antoine had a brother Jean François and was the son of the late Pierre Dutoit, but
unfortunately appears not to give further details about André. It is clear from the baptismal records of Geneva that there were two Jeremie André Dutoits, the younger named after the elder.

Information in the International Genealogical Index (IGI) gives birthplace as "Milden", which is certainly incorrect. Information on his descendants, apparently accurate as to filiation but in error for birthplaces, and very poorly documented, is taken from the IGI. The baptismal record, in his father's peculiar hand, seems to give his name as "Auguts", but it is susceptible to other readings as well.

Esther is also mentioned in the church registers in 1621, at which time Jonas is still living. He is cited as conseiller de Moudon as late as 03 apr 1629 (Baltazard DeCristaz, notary).
