Daughter of Thomas Haddican and Bridget Healey.
[10747] Date of birth taken from internet site of Teresa Malcolm, fall 2004, e-mail: ancestrybyinez@hotmail.com. and needs to be verified. Rachel's surname not given, but names Eliakim Anderson as her second husband.
See e-mail from Wynne dtd 16 Oct. 2004, giving info about Rachel and Eliakim Anderson being buried at Denville Cemetery. Info probably obtained from Percy Crayon's book on Rockaway Families.
Haden/Hayden....WFT Vol. 10, Pedigree #1790 starts in MA, then to NJ/PA, then KY near Maysville and Ohio River. Same route probably taken by Moores of NJ. Also a Sutton connection...Baptists. Noted in James Savage's Dictionary of Colonial families of U.S. by MacKenzie, 1912. Shows connection to Elisha Moore.
[15530] Dates of birth for children, obtained from RootsWeb's World Connect Project:A Malcolm Line by Inez, 10/13/04, need to be verified. All of these children were named in the will of Eliakim Anderson, proved 18 Oct. 1830. His will, originally dated 1811, had a codicil added shortly before his death. Rachel preceded Eliakim in death and was not named in his will.
David Moore died intestate. Letters of Administration granted by his Excellency Governor Livingston, Esq. Rachel More, administratrix of the estate of David More, late of the county of Morris, deceased. She being duly sworn duly to administer the same. Exhibit a true and perfect inventory and tender a just and true amount of her administration. Given under the Prerogative Court this 10th day of April 1781. Bowes Reed, Register. ( Amount of inventory unreadable).
David More (with that spelling) died intestate in early April, 1781 and shortly thereafter, Rachel was appointed administratrix of his estate.
Buried at Denville Cem., Hanover Twp.
David Moore married 2) Rachel Haden, daughter of William, on Sept. 4, 1777....
Eliakim married 2) Lydia Beach, a daughter of Stephen Beach. However, her name is not mentioned in his will or a later codicil. Further study of that document in order.
[15529] Lydia was first married to John Cooper. They had a large family: Sarah b. 1773; Wm, who married Hannah Moore, dau of David; Betsey, Sibbah, Lydia, Stephen and Daniel. No date of marriage has been found, but it would have been after 1821. Lydia was the mother-in-law of Hannah Moore Cooper, then became her step-mother when she married Eliakim Anderson!

[11038] If we have the right William Hayden, he was the son of Samuel Hayden and Priscilla Webb of Braintree, MA and his wife was Lydia Kierstede, daughter of Samuel Kiersteded/Kierstead (and many other spellings) and wife, Lydia Dey. Her name also has many spellings: Dey/Deny/Deuy as well as Duyts. The Kierstede and related families go back to early New York/Staten Island. Many references on the internet but no real proof.
Most of the references do not include Rachel as the daughter of William and Lydia.
[11039] Sep. 2007: Nothing is known about William Haden/Hayden at this time, except that he was named as the father of Rachel in Percy Crayon's book about the Rockaway area in New Jersey. There are many errors in that work, so only time will tell if we have identified the right person.
Much can be found on the internet about Hayden and allied families, including the fact that there is a tie to the Pilgrim, John Alden.
SPL has a bound book of periodicals published by the Hayden family in the 1930's. Genealogy chart starting with John Alden is copied here for future reference.
Harriet Stryker-Rodda, in her compilation of Some Early Records of Morris County, New Jersey (1740-1799), published in 1975 by Polyanthus in New Orleans, shows a William Hayden who applied for a tavern license in 1759 and also appears on an early voters list.
As a note of interest, there were several Day-Hayden marriages in Morris Co., NJ in the late 1700's and early 1800's. Possible tie to our Days?
NEHGR 57:224 (1903) had the following query:
HAYDEN: Who is now working out the lines of descendants of John Hayden of Braintree, Mass.?
What became of Christopher, b. Feb. 18, 1719, and Nathaniel, b. Feb. 21, 1726, sons of Samuel Hayden and Priscilla, of Braintree, Mass.?
Was this Christopher, he who owned a lot in Basking Ridge, NJ, who married Elizabeth Sutton, and whose son Christopher was b. Mar. 1, 1756, at Basking Ridge, NJ?
Was this Nathaniel, he of Basking Ridge, NJ who married Zervia Sutton Aug. 22, 1752 at Morristown, NJ and who d. Sep. 1812, age 86, at Rostraver Twp. Westmoreland Co, PA? Query from a W.S.Hayden of Cleveland, OH.
Many people on the internet show that Lydia Kierstede was the wife of William Hayden and this is the line that goes back to Alden.
