The terrier ACV Fh 34, fol. 441v, circa 1585, identifies him as the late father of Thivent, Claude, and Pierre Filliettaz. However, on fol. 549v of the same terrier, the list of sons reads Thivent, Claude, and Paul. That Jaques was the father of Thivent, Claude, and Paul is attested in other records, but the two lists of the children of Jaques in Fh 34 might signify that Paul was the son of a different mother. A terrier for the de la Porte family, Fh 17, indicates that as of 29 aug 1554 (fol. 18) Jaques Filliettaz was still living, but a notation in Fh 18, an annotated copy of Fh 17, says that after the death of Jaques, his estate went to his sons Thivent, Claude, and Paul, who divided the estate. It is possible, therefore, that the reference to Pierre is simply an error, and that the clerk should have written Paul instead. However, the terrier Fh 160, for property subject to the Château of Aubonne, contains a reconnaissance for "Thivent, Claude, Paule et Pierre filz de feu Discret Jaques Filliettaz de Gymel" (fol. 91v, 25 oct 1575). The history of the property in this reconnaissance appears to demonstrate the origin of the widespread de Genève alias Billiard family in the person of Louis de Genève, whose wife was Anthoenne, daughter of Pierre Billiard of Gimel.
