Surname hard to decipher in the marriage record of her daughter, so possibly something other than Berger.
[10024] Veronica may have been related in some way to John Ulrich Bergey and his wife, Mary, who first appeared in Pennsylvania in 1726. See Genealogy of the Bergey Family, compiled by David H. Bergey, M.D., Secretary and Historian of the Bergey Family Assn., Philadelphia, PA, excerpts of which were sent sent to me by the Librarian of the Historical Society in Norristown, PA. 1996. This Bergy/ Bürgy family were Mennonites who lived in Lower Salford twp, not far from the Reeds and allied families. Further research will be necessary to establish a possible relationship.
From "Genealogy of the Bergey Family" by David Hendricks Bergey, MD.... info about Bergey settlers in Lower Salford Twp. This family arrived in 1719 before the German immigrants were recorded as they arrived on various ships starting in 1727. Since your Reed family seemed to go straight to Salford Twp. in 1727/28 when the son, Michael, was born, I feel that it is very possible this Bergey is akin to your Veronica Berkey. Note that this Bergey family had a daughter, "Fronica" which is a nickname for Veronica. I think I would try to locate more on this family in Europe....

Known also as Rodolphe-Frédéric Bergier, he was a notary and "secrétaire de la cour de justice du jadis chapitre de Lausanne". Among other works, he created a digest of the decisions of the city council of Lausanne from 1431 until 1784. An index to this work is at the Archives Cantonales Vaudoises (ACV Zc 13).
