Family is found in Sharon Tp., Clinton Co., IA in 1860 census (p. 468), with sone Alfred E. and with Sarah's mother, Sarah Uran age 70 b. VT. In 1870, they are in Lester Tp., Black Hawk Co., IA (p. 452). In 1880, Creighton, Knox Co., NE, p. 82D, where enumerated as John L. Perry. All other records so far indicate Leonard Perry.

By 1880, Luke Perry is living with his son Edmond, and Eliza McCoy is gone. They are living next door to James K. Polk Perry and a couple doors away from the Harmon R. Honefenger family. His obituary indicates he moved to Pettis Co., MO in 1832, then to Brown Co., IL about 1833. Also noted are 8 children (6 living: James H., Elisha, Reuben, Edmund, Benjamin, Gideon) by his first wife, and a daughter by his second wife.

A tree on FamilySearch.org calls him Nathan Washington Perry and gives his birth date date 10 tenth month 1769, but without sources. There are some discrepancies in the various stories. There is a bronze marker in the Perry Cemetery, Cooperstown Township, Brown Co., Illinois, describing the migration of Nathan Perry and his family circa 1831, but the burials of Nathan and Rebecca are not marked. The birth date comes from Hinshaw's
There is doubt also about Nathan's marriages. There is a marriage 07 nov 1787 in Perquimans Co., North Carolina for Nathan Perry and Rachel Elliott. It is not clear when or where Nathan married Rebecca, and therefore, it is also not entirely clear which children are hers. Nevertheless, the generally accepted list of eight children is given here, all believed to have come with their parents to Brown Co., Illinois about 1831.

However, this genealogy was written before it was recognized that Nathan came from a Quaker family of Perquimans, North Carolina. It does not seem to include sources, apart from some relating to the early generations. In fact, a great deal more has come to light and has been added to the tree on FamilySearch.org.
