A family record gave us the name Turley Southard, but without any details. We strongly suspect this is Robert F. (=Finley?) Southard (of Basking Ridge, NJ?), who married Joanna Baird in Someret Co., NJ 02 mar 1842. This couple, if this is indeed the correct Johanna, seems not to have had any children of their own, but Robert may have had a son Newton (Isaac Newton Southard, born 08 ocdt 1839 at Basking Ridge, died 08 mar 1869?) from a previous marriage. They are in the 1850 and 1860 censuses of Newark, Essex Co., NJ. Robert F. appears to have remarried to a woman named Harriet and moved to La Salle Co., IL by 1870.
