File 3508N: Mary Bockoven Baird, widow of John Baird, late of Morris Co., N J, leaves her son William six cents and no more. Mentions daughters Margaret Chamberlain, Mary Pruden, Elizabeth Hayden, Hannah Gable, and Sarah Eddy, and sons George and Elisha. Mentions widow and children of deceased son John. Executors, her sons George and Elisha, dated 1842. Witnesses John V. Abraham and Henry Stevens.

Additional data on her family comes from a 1950 compilation of Bockoven family records by Gertrude Vanderhoff, of Basking Ridge, NJ. She did not have the exact birthdates of the children of John Baird and Mary Bockoven, because that record had been removed from the family bible and sent to Washington, DC with Mary Bockoven Baird's pension application!

[4311] Birthdate given in attachments to her pension application #W-27877 Rev. tombstone gives month and year only for birthdate.

[14736] Pension app. #W-27877 Rev. indicates marriage took place at Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church, by Rev. Kennedy, who at that time was not keeping records of marriages. (and there are no early records except pewholders)
