So far, we have no record of him at Bischwiller after 1748. Did the entire family end up in New Jersey? Could the Peter Bockoven who appears in early records of Somerset and Morris Counties, NJ be the father of our George Bockoven instead of his brother? (Such a record is the will of Peter Kemble, 30 nov 1765, leaving to his son Peter "plantation no. 1" in Morristown "now in occupation of Uric Baccover", and to son Robert, "plantation no. 2", occupied by "Mary, widow of Peter Baccover", with George Bockover witness.)

The genealogies compiled by Jean François Poulet, minister of the Eglise Réformée of Bischwiller, dated 1753, show Joseph as the father of Jacob "du Four" and several other siblings associated with the French church at Bischwiller. So far, we have found no other documents that name Joseph (apart from the compilation attributed to the notary Wundisch, evidently from the same sources), but the connections between his alleged children seem very logical, based on their appearances at family events such as baptisms. In the 17th Century, they are almost always called du Four in the records of the French church, and always Bachoffen or Bachofen in the records of the two German congregations at Bischwiller. Likewise, the town records of Bischwiller (now at the Archives of Bas-Rhin, in Strasbourg) usually use Dufour when the document is written in French, and Bachoffen when it is in German. In the one case where we found a French original translated into German in the late 17th Century, the witness "Abraham Dufour" in the original became "Abraham Bachoffen" in the translation.
The "Wundisch" manuscript consists of 6 voumes of "Bischweiler Stammtafeln", attributed on the cover label to "Notar Wundisch, Bischweiler". It is not a primary source. Based on the dates and script, it seems to have been prepared perhaps as late as 1921, and there are additions in different inks (e.g., death dates) at least as late as 1967. The microfilm was made at Strasbourg in 1971.

Her descendants evidently ended up with the name Woodring in the US. Internet sources, not verified, tell us that this couple was married at the Lutheran church of "Vinstingen" in 1636, on the 8th Sunday after Trinity, and further, that most of their children were baptised there, even though the family actually lived at nearby Kirberg. Political conditions led to the migration of "several" families to Bischwiller about 1650. Other towns named in the context of this family's stay at Kirberg include Helleringen and Lixheim. "Vinstingen" is another spelling of Finstingen, the German name for the town of Fénétrange in the Départemente of Moselle.

The Wundich manuscript, vol. 4 p. 372, giving an analysis of the entire "Dufour - Bachofen" family, notes her death 10 feb 1749, one of the last records of any of the Bachoffen at Bischwiller. The death record gives the name of her mother as Susanna Dorothea Lanx.
The baptismal record, in which her name was first written Catharina, then lined out and altered to Maria Esther, includes the signatures of the sponsors, notably that of Maria Esther Lüroth, which the text identified as Esther, daugher of Samuel Lirots. The Luroth family is found in the record of the French-speaking congregation at Bischwiller, but it is not entirely clear which Maria Esther this is.
