Surname sometimes given as Langss or Lanx in the records of the Lutheran congregation of Bischwiller, where her relatives may be found. In other records, such as those at Colmar, Lanß and Langß are also found.

Apparent burial record in Philadelphia, exact source not known (the record on FamilySearch.org is part of a database apparently extracted from Philadelphia church records), gives a different birth date and parentage: born 23 dec 1709 in Bischwiller, daughter of Jacob Lang. However, the marriage record in Bischwiller (Evangelical Reformed church, i.e., the Swiss-German congregation) gives her family name as Langs, and the death date from FamilySearch is given as 29 dec 1775. It is clear from the baptisms of the children — the girls were baptised in the Evangelical (i.e., Lutheran) congregation of Bischwiller — that her baptism should be that of Susanna Dorothea Lanx, daughter of Anthonius Lanx and Susana Magdalena Kleinhanss, in the Evangelical (Lutheran) congregation at Bischwiller. No baptism of any Lang, Langs, or similar has been found at Bischwiller that corresponds with the date and parentage in the burial record, but that record cannot be checked against the authentic church records of Philadelphia without access to the original records. The date and parentage could plausibly be the result of a transcription error, or an error in the original record. The pennsylvaniasettlers.com web site indicates the record came from St. Michael's and ZIon Luther Church, but it is not yet known whether this is a reading of the original church register or from a published transcript.

In the records of the Lutheran congregation at Bischwiller, there is a gap in the baptismal records, between 27 nov 1709 and 22 jan 1710. Approximately the same gap occurs in 1708, and there are relatively few baptisms at this time of year in other years. Infants were generally baptised within a few days of birth. There is no indication that baptisms were lost or not recorded. [4274] Recorded in the Lutheran congregation.
