Van Buren Co. deeds vol. V, p. 324 shows Asa Blanchard appointed guardian for the four sons of Eliza Ann Abernathy for two small parcels of land she had purchased from G. W. Snodgrass, sold at auction by Blanchard to William F. Blanchard 06 jan 1861. Clearly, Eliza had died, but had her husband also died, after both of them were listed on the 1860 census? The land was in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 Sec. 19, T 68 N, R 11 W, and lot 6 in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 Sec. 30, T 68 N, R 11 W.
