The name is spelled many ways. The odd reading of Eliakim, suggested in several sources, may stem from what looks like Elikam in the George Bockoven family bible. Closer inspection gives a possible reading of Plikarn or even Plikart (but the final loop is not crossed), similar to the German baptismal record of Pleichart. In any case, the family bible was published in 1792, long after the death of Blakert/Pleichart.
[4295] the name is spelled Pleichard Dieterich Weidknecht in the Adelshofen churchbook.

In the 1850 census, there is another person in the household, Alivia (?) Louis, age 12. This could indicate that Caroline Whiteside m. (1) _____ Louis, then (2) _____ Buskirk. This is (somewhat) explained in the will of Caroline's sister-in-law, Anne Isabella Whiteside, which names George and James Van Buskirk and Allvia S. Harvey. Allvia would seem to be the "Alivia" I found on the census. However, she would only be 13 at the time of Anne's will of 1851.
While it is assumed that the Buskirk children belong to Caroline Whitesides, it is also possible that they are stepchildren, by Mr. Buskirk's first wife. If this is correct, Caroline's first husband need not have died before 1840, and could in fact be the same Thomas Harvey who testified for Jean Pierre Samuel Marcel's naturalization hearing in Butler Co., OH that year. Mr. Marcel was the grandfather of Caroline Whiteside's sister-in-law. There are a number of Harvey families in the area at that time, so it is not necessary that any of them are related to the Whiteside or Marcel/McCoy families.
The probable solution, at least to some of this, is provided by the marriage records of Butler Co., OH, and by research on the Van Buskirk family there by Roger E. Bissell. Ralph Van Buskirk married his second wife Clarissa Lamb in Butler County 07 jul 1831, and his third wife Caroline V. Lewis on 09 jun 1839. At least some of the Buskirks who appear in the 1850 census of Sycamore Township, Hamilton Co., OH are the children of Ralph. Roger believes that the children listed with Caroline Buskirk in the 1850 census (next door to Robert Whiteside, paper-maker) are "Alivia", Caroline's daughter by her first husband surnamed Lewis, and James and George Buskirk, Caroline's children by Ralph Van Buskirk. In order to turn Allvia into a Harvey, however, it becomes necessary for her to be adopted, or else to suppose that Caroline had been married to (1) Harvey, (2) Lewis, and (3) Van Buskirk.

Appears in 1850 census, but age is hard to read. 1860 census is clear. The will of her mother mentions Catherine Louise Whiteside, apparently the same person listed as Louisa Whiteside in the census. It seems likely that Catherine was the daughter of Robert Whiteside by a first wife, since Anne's will does not call Catherine her daughter, and because of the gap between Catherine and the next child, Loyd Elmore. After 1860, no further mention has been found.

David was probably living at Emporia, Kansas in 1890.
Daily Illinois State Journal (Springfield, Illinois), 24 nov 1909, in a column of news from Mt. Sterling: "D. M. Whiteside left Monday for Foss, Okla., and will stop at Eldorado Springs, Mo., to visit his brother, George Whiteside." In the same newspaper, 05 nov 1911, among news from Mt. Sterling: "D. M. Whiteside left Thursday for Foss., Okla., where he will spend the next three months."
George and David were twins, as reported in the Miami Daily News-Record (Miami, Oklahoma), 02 oct 1936: "D. M. Whiteside of Mt. Sterling, Ill., is visiting his nephew, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Whiteside. He has been visiting his twin brother George Whiteside of near Joplin. The twin brothers will be 88 years of age in January, which is somewhat unusual for twins."
