His heirs are cited as owners of property at Bière as early as 1567 (Claude Mayor, notary, ACV DB 26/1 fol. 6v, 16 dec 1567). One heir of whom we are certain is Discret Pierre Lagnel (ACV Fg 102 fol. 167v, 02 mar 1590). Paul's heirs are also the subject of a "reconnaissance" dated 29 apr 1567 (ACV Fh 211, commissaires Pierre Tripod and George Dunant, fol. 358). Acting for the heirs on this occasion were Discret Aymonet Bichet notaire, and François Lagnel, both from Bière, for property that had been purchased from the du Sougey family by Paul and also by the guardians of the heirs.
Widow of Jean Guibat, but which one?
The marriage record apparently lists her father as François, but the name of her father is given as Jaques Lagnel in a "reconnaissance" made by her husband 17 dec 1622 (ACV Fh 175 fol. 75). Another, earlier reconnaissance (Fg 102 fol. 170, 1589) calls him the late Françoys Lagnel.
