It is quite possible that he was one of the Wethersfield men killed in the massacre of April, 1637, the event which started the Pequot War.
He died at an unknown date but before 1639, when record of the distribution of town lands was made in the name of "Frances Kilborne, widow." It has been suggested that he may have been one of the victims of a massacre....
Named in the will of George Moodye of Moulton (co Suffolk), dtd 5 Aug. 1607, as Frauncys Kilborne.....

1865 census indicates she had 9 children, but we have identified 10 from census records. It is possible one of them is not hers.
Her tombstone in Cass Co., Nebraska is difficult to read (picture on findagrave.com), but appears to give her age at death as 87 years, 9 months, 15 days. This figure yields a birth date of 16 dec 1798, completely inconsistent with Margaret's ages in 8 different census records, and also inconsistent with the birth date of her youngest child, Lucy, born about 1858. We speculate that this date might be the date of birth of an unknown wife of Robert McDougall, Sr., perhaps copied from a family bible in possession of the Calkin family. But it seems completely illogical that Mrs. Calkin, Margaret's daughter, would not have known her mother's age.
Spelling of her name varies, Kendall, Kendle, Kindle, etc. Kindle seems the most likely solution, echoing name of Susannah Kindle Smith, b. 1811? But if that is true, what was the connection between her father Charles Henry Kindle b. 1846 in Ohio, and the Reuben Smith family?
