Married Braunton, co. Devon, by 19 Oct. 1584, John Wyatt, gentleman, bapt. 11 Nov. 1557, bur. 29 Nov. 1598, Braunton, son of Philip and Joan (Paty) Wyatt of Braunton. (NEHGR 51:214; Vivian, Devon 823; TAG 57:115-119).

[15154] In NEHGR 12 (Jan. 1858) is an article entitled Church Records of Farmington in Connecticut by Daniel Goodwin. Under the heading of John Wyatt, we find that his wife, Mary, joined the Church of Farmington, October 9, 1653.
Baptismal records of their children follow: Mary Wyatt, Jun., was baptized on October 23, 1653, aged about 6 years. Also baptized that day were other children: John, about 4 years; Hepzibah, aged about one year.
According to Goodwin, the other children were baptized in the same church but dates are missing. He then goes on to give the following ages of the children in 1668: Dorcas, age 13; Sarah, age 9; Joanna, age 5, and Elizabeth, age 3. Were these the ages of the children at the time of their father's death in 1668?
Little else is known about this Wyatt family and, aside from Elizabeth, I have not added the other children to my database. Further exploration of the Connecticut church and other records will be necessary to be sure this is the right Wyatt family.
There is another John Wyatt in my database that ties in with the Allyn line (see Whiting binder). There does not seem to be a tie between the two families, other than they came from England. Frequently the 2d Wyatt line has been spelled "Wyott" and I have used that spelling to avoid confusion.

Another brother of John Wyatt was Phillip Wyatt, also a Town Clerk of Barnstaple, whose diary furnishes much of interest in that period.

Line 52 descends from William Le Prouz, sheriff of Devon, 1269, with Margaret Wyatt, wife of Matthew Allyn, numbered 43.
Cited as the husband of Noble Clauda daughter of Louis du Moulin in a document of Jean Marcuard, notary at Payerne (ACV DP 62/2, 22 apr 1582). On that occasion, Clauda was represented by the ever-present Benoit Nible.
It is not ruled out that he is the same Jacob Wyss who married as her third husband Clauda du Moulin, whose first husband was a Gachet.
