At the time of his death, he was identified as assesseur, justicier, and conseiller of Lucens, and Châtelain de Forel. Possibly he was the father of Jean Louis Margueron de Lucens who is cited 05 sep 1800 (Jean Briod, notary at Lucens) as proprietor of the inn "Les Treize Cantons" at Villeneuve. However, there seems to be confusion in the records at Curtilles, where in 1791, the proprietor of the Treize Cantons is listed as Jaques Louis Margueron, with wife Jeanne Salomé Senn. Further, the records of the catechumens assign a Beat Rodolphe Margueron as the son of Louis Guillaume born 14 mar 1797, while the actual baptism on that date gives the parents as Jaques Louis Margueron and Jeanne Senn. The real Jean Louis (1790-1810) was a son of Jaques Louis. Another son of Jaques Louis and Jeanne Salomé Senn, Nicolas Aimé Salomon, is listed in his marriage record as the son of Louis Guillaume Margueron and Jeanne Salomé Senn! It appears that some of the Marguerons were known by names other than their baptismal names.

Soldier in the Piedmont, about 1557. By 1562, he was in Oron-la-Ville, where in 1564 he purchased a house from Pierre Germon. By that time he was an innkeeper at Oron. He was accused of selling stolen livestock, but was later found innocent (1569). Last cited in 1572. Apparently, the next "hoste" at Oron from the Margueron family was Antoine's nephew François, and not an unknown son of Antoine.

After his marriage to Johannette Doges, he added his wife's surname to his own, and henceforth, at Palézieux, his family is known either as Margueron or Doges. Information on the Margueron family at Palézieux and Oron follows Lacher's Chronique de Palézieux (1955) except where our own study of the early notarial records of the district of Oron has led to different conclusions.
He acknowledged his wife's property from her marriage contract 29 jan 1632 (Pierre Margueron, notary), but the document does not give her surname.
