He is cited as a property owner at Bière as early as 1567 (Claude Mayor, notary, ACV DB 26/1 fol. 6v, 16 dec 1567). In the terrier ACV Fh 211 (fol. 284v), he is apparently the late Loys Huguet whose sons Estievent, Jacques, and Pierre are minors (06 apr 1570). This is apparently the same Louis who had a brother Jean Huguet who purchased property at Féchy in 1557 and who was still alive in 1570. This notion is confirmed in the quernet Fh 33, believed to be from about 1580, where on fol. 1171 we find rents owed by Jean Huguet of Bière and his nephews Thievent, Jaques, and Pierre, sons of the late Louys Huguet of Bière. There is no indication in this volume which Jean Huguet is intended. Was it the notary, or the younger Jean?

Which Pierre is this? The baptisms of children ascribed to "Pierre Huguet" are too close together, suggesting the presence of two men of this name.
In spite of notation that appears to be "feu" in 1586, there is a baptism 22 mar 1590 of Pernette daughter of Pierre Huguet of Bière. Perhaps the earlier entry was a scribal error, or else this is the daughter of a later Pierre. However, he was definitely dead by 06 nov 1615 when his brother Claude acted for Pierre's son Reymond in a "reconnaissance" of property dependent to the Château d'Allaman (ACV FH 53 fol. 499). The property had previously been the subject of a reconnaissance dated 14 feb 1581 for Claude and his brother Pierre.
If the last child was indeed the one baptised in October, 1586, then the terrier undated terrier Fg 294 must be from a slightly later period, perhaps around 1590. At that time, Claude was married to Jeanne Bichet, and his nephews were Jaques, Michel, and Pierre — but the father of these nephews does not seem to be named.
The baptismal dates of the children of this Pierre are also problematic. There are two pairs that are very close together, as if the children were twins but were not baptised on the same day, contrary to the usual practice.
