He is apparently the Jean Baptiste Mayor the younger who had died before 25 feb 1705 and whose brother Jean Louis Mayor was presently outside the country.
He may be the Jean Baptise Mayor who appears as a sponsor at a baptism on 12 nov 1671. It is possible some additional children might have been baptised in other parishs. Begnins should be checked.
There are some suggestions in the records of the notaries that his children did not survive him. For example, the children of his brother Jean Louis Mayor were apparently designated as the heirs of this Jean Baptiste (Daniel Marmet, notary, ACV DK 69/3, 28 feb 1711).

Death date deduced from a record concerning his son Gedeon Mayor in Geneva seeking his advanced degree in theology, 1663. Jean François was already dead at that time. A record at Apples indicates he had died prior to 1658.
His uncle Pierre son of the late Jaques Mayor of Ballens made a "reconnaissance" on his behalf 17 dec 1622 (ACV FH 175 fol. 109). This and related transactions in the terriers, as well as the fact that the other notary Antoine Mayor died several years before the birth of Jean François, lead us to identify him as the son of Antoine son of Jaques rather than as a son of Antoine son of Pierre.

The question of the parentage of his daughter Susanne Mayor (wife of Jean Samuel Mayor) appears to be answered by a document recorded 29 nov 1723 by the notary Daniel Marmet (ACV DK 69/24), among other sources:

S'est constitué le Sr. Jean Samuel Mayor Juge du Venerable Consistoire de Ballens, agissant au nom d'honnorée Susanne Mayor et d'autres Srs. hoirs de feu le Sr. Curial Mayor ses beaufrere et belles soeurs fondé en procure de mot à mot cy apres thenorisée, a cedé et mis au Noble et Genereux Seigneur de Suery (?) une lettre de rente en datte du 20e 8bre 1681 signée Egrege Mayor créée en faveur de feu le Sr. Jaques Mayor grandpere desdits hoirs contre feu honnorable Jaques Rochat musnier au Moulin de Gollie sous Mollens de la somme capitale de cinz cents et septant cinq florins, provenant pour le prix non payé dudit Moulin et apertenances qui sont speciallement hypothequé en icelle et c'est pour et moyenant la degravance que ledit Noble Seigneur à promis faire au nom desdits hoirs aupres des heritiers de feu Monsieur Monod Seigneur de Ballens de la somme de cinq cents dez (=dès) la datte du 20e 8bre dernier et le restat pour argent reellement livré audit Sr. Juge, au moyen de quoy ledit Noble Seigneur est colloqué au lieu et place desdits hoirs, asseurant n'en avoir fait autre remise ny transport que le present obligeant et pour cest effect les biens desdits hoirs pour maintenance. Thus, Susanne Mayor, wife of Jean Samuel Mayor, was a granddaughter of Jaques Mayor.

He received a marriage settlement of 600 florins from the father of his wife 22 jun 1610 (Claude Mayor, ACV DB 26/9 fol. 88v).
He may have remarried. Jaquemaz Crestin, widow of the late Jean Jaques Mayor of Mollens recorded her testament 08 nov 1657 (Henri Bolay, notary, FHL microfilm #0920931), naming Jean Pierre Demont (of Apples or Lavigny, apparently), her son by her first husband, and the rest to "her children". There does not seem to be any other Jean Jaques Mayor at Mollens at this period.
