The marriage contract of her daughter Jaqueline 10 apr 1697 (Daniel Marmet, notary, ACV DK 69/1) notes the following uncles of Jaqueline, who must be brothers of Anne: Jean Baptiste and Jean Louis Mayor of Ballens. This leads us to place her as another daughter of Jean François Mayor and Jaqueline Monod, and if this is true, she was probably born during the long gap in the church records at Bière.
It is possible she was actually Anne Marie, baptised in 1642, and by 1685 married to Pierre Jaquier of Féchy. More evidence is needed on this point.

Evidently this is the Anne Marie Mayor who married (1) Jean Louis Convers, and (2) Jaques de l'Estraz of Morges. This deduction is made from the presence of Anne Marie Mayor widow of the late Jean Louis Convers at the baptism of Anne Marie, daughter of Jean François Pyrod (Piron) and Jeanne Elizabeth Mayor. Anne Marie was the mother's sister. However, this contradicts the sequence of wives of Jean Louis Convers. Either there were two different women named Anne Marie Mayor, or else two men named Jean Louis Convers.

This is the Antoine de Vernay alias Mayor who acknowledged property 28 oct 1506 in the terrier ACV Fh 137, including a vineyard in the territory of Aubonne en Chivrageon. He was the son of the late Michel son of the late Antoine, and Michel also had a brother Pierre whose heir was Jacobo Mayor, who made a similar reconnaissance in the same terrier.
He is apparently also the Antoine Mayor of Ballens who recognized a different vineyard en Chivrageon (ACV Fh 141 fol. 68v, 1514), this one a dependency of the hospital of Aubonne. He seems to have purchased this property from Estienne Challet, son of Pierre, who had previously recognized the same property. This second property at Chivrageon was later in the hands of some of the descendants of Antoine's brothers.

1584: "Toni Mayor"? 1599: A different notary Antoine Mayor appears in registers at Yens as Châtelain and resident, son Jean François baptised there in 1603 (date unclear, might be 1601). Testament recorded by Ege. Jaques Baudin 1595 (according to a document of Claude Mayor, notary, 14 aug 1617), gave a legacy to Marguerite Mayor his sister, mother of David Mayor, this legacy evidently coming to members of the Dunant family as well as David after Marguerite's death. Thus, there seem to be two Anthoine Mayors, one dying before 16 jul 1595 (ACV DB 26/8 fol. 18v), the other the Châtelain of Yens still alive somewhat later.
The Pierre Mayor of Ballens who was not the son of François, and whose sons were Anthoine and Michel, may have been the brother of Humbert Mayor. This is suggested by a transaction recorded by Claude Mayor, notary, 13 dec 1590, wherein Anthoine Mayor, evidently the same one who was involved with the Dunant family that year, sells to Claude son of the late Claude Monod of Ballens his interest in land owned jointly with the hospital of Morges and with Michel Mayor and Humbert Mayor. It is known that Anthoine's father left his real property to his two sons in 1570, so it appears that the property must have been held before 1570 by Humbert and Pierre. This relationship is confirmed in the terriers, where Humbert, son of Ottonin, appears as the uncle of the notaries Anthoine and Michel, sons of Pierre Mayor.
The Anthoine who died after 1603 was not the one whose wife was Gabrielle, identified as noble Gabrielle de Mont in a document of 25 mar 1603 recorded by Jean Barral, notary of Morges. This document involves Gabrielle's son Aron and his paternal uncle Michel Mayor notary of Lausanne. The document is very difficult to read, and therefore possibly misinterpreted in some respects.
A further complication, or perhaps a clarification, is found in a terrier of 1573 relating to property of the former foundation for the "messe de purgatoire" at Aubonne, whose property was managed for the benefit of the city of Aubonne after the Reformation. Among the property that was inventoried in this terrier (ACV Fh 158), there is a "recognoissance" by Jaques Mayor of Aubonne, Blaise De La Pierre of Aubonne, and Anthoine Mayor of Ballens, all of whose wives were daughters of Laurent Darzier.
Louis de Charrière (in "Les dynastes de Mont, soit des Monts, seconde maison", Mémoires et documents publiés par la société d'histoire de la Suisse Romande 28:112, 1875) suggests that Gabrielle must have been either the daughter or the sister of the last of the noble de Mont family, Jean de Mont, bourgeois of Aubonne. Further explorations of the long series of terriers for Aubonne will probably clarify this problem.
Among the documents recorded by Claude Mayor of Ballens are several that appear to distinguish between "Egrège" Antoine Mayor, bourgeois d'Aubonne, and "Discret" Antoine Mayor de Ballens. Both men owned property at Ballens. At least a few of these transactions involve both Antoines, so they are clearly distinct persons. "Discret" Antoine and his brother Pierre were sons of Jaques Mayor, illegitimate son of Pierre. "Egrège" Antoine and his brother Michel were sons of the Pierre who died in 1570.
A further instance where both of the Antoines are involved in a single transaction is a reconnaissance dated 24 dec 1580 in the terrier ACV Fh 164 (fol. 68), compiled by the present Anthoine Mayor, commissaire, for property in the fief of Lavigny, recently obtained by Eg. François Forestey by exchange. The reconnaissance was made by Jaques Mayor for his children Michel, Jean, and Jeanne by his late wife Pernette Darzier, and also for Antoine his brother, whose wife was Françoise Darzier.
[2897] A document of Claude Mayor notary notes transaction involving Anthoine Mayor and David, Zacharie, and Pierre Dunand, bro A document of Claude Mayor notary notes transaction involving Anthoine Mayor and David, Zacharie, and Pierre Dunand, brothers, 06 oct 1590. This may be a marriage settlement.

This is apparently the one who is identified as "Discret" Antoine Mayor, and possibly the one who was Châtelain of Yens about 1603. The earliest record indicating "Discret Antoine Mayor de Ballens" is one dated 13 sep 1585 (ACV DB 26/5, fol. 94), which we interpret as signifying that Antoine had reached the age of majority, 25 years. On that occasion, he was purchasing property from Egrège Antoine Mayor.
The Châtelain of Yens was still alive 28 aug 1608, when he appears as a sponsor for the baptism at Bière of André son of Pierre Huguet and Jaquemaz Moré (Morel). He is mentioned in the church records of St. Livres and Yens on several occasions: at Yens 11 oct 1599, Anthoine Mayor Châtelain de Yens, sponsor at a baptism; baptism of Jean François son of Discret Antoine Mayor 18 apr 1601 at Yens; 28 aug 1608, Antoine Mayor Châtelain de Yens, sponsor for baptism at Bière;19 nov 1608, Susanne daughter of Antoine Mayor Châtelain de Yens, sponsor at a baptism in Yens, and thus apparently past the age of confirmation and therefore born before about 1593; 25 feb 1616, the same Susanne is mentioned again at Yens as the daughter of Antoine Mayor Châtelain de Yens, who was presumably therefore still alive as of that date. There are two mentions of Estiennaz, daughter of Antoine Mayor in 1604.

His parentage has not been established, apart from the fact that he seems to be a brother of the Jaques Mayor of Ballens who settled at Aubonne and who also married a daughter of Laurent Darzier. A "reconnaissance" of the heirs of Michel Mayor, son of this Jaques (ACV Fh 171, fol. 218, circa 1606), indicates that Antoine had lived at Monnaz (parish of Morges) when he made a reconnaissance of his own 18 sep 1581 (Fh 162, commissaires Jehan Marquis and Estienne Favre, for the former Priory of Etoy, not yet examined). Similar information is cited in the quernet Fh 35 (about 1583), fols. 38v and 49.

The existence of Aymonetus Mayor senior and junior is revealed in several terriers, as joint owners of a house in Aubonne, 1427-1438.
In Fh 119, 01 dec 1427, fols. 36v, we find that Aymonetus Maior of Ballens holds 2 poses of vineyards at Cheyvrajon, and a half-interest (medietas) of a house in burgo hospitalis (sometimes also described as in burgo interiori), and on fol. 37, on the same date, his brother Stephanodus Maior of Ballens holds the other half of the same house. Fh 119 served as the basis for the "quernet" Fh 4, a sort of summary of obligations of the Seigneur's vassals, compiled evidently a few years later, but no date is stated. In Fh 4, fols. 10v and 22, we find the same house, but now the joint tenants are Aymonetus Mayor de Ballens for the first half, and Aymonetus Mayor junior, his nephew, for the half that had previously been held by Stephanodus. Thus, Stephanodus had evidently died in the interim. The next terrier, Fh 5 (a nearly exact copy or summary of Fh 120), fols. 236v (07 jan 1438) and 254 (11 mar 1438), again includes the same house, still divided between Aymonetus Mayor and his nephew Aymonetus Mayor junior, and with a notation in the margin on fol. 254 (next to the description of the half of the house held by Aymonetus junior) indicating that the property was later held by Petrus Mayor and Aymonodus "his" (eius") son, which we interpret from the context as meaning that Petrus Mayor (perhaps meaning Petrus Mayor senior (alias de Vernay), son of Johanneta Mayor daughter of Aymonetus Mayor junior and Anthonius de Vernay held the half from Aymonetus Mayor senior, and Aymonodus (=Mondetus?) Mayor, son of Aymonetus Mayor junior, held the other half. Now, notations of this sort were often made by later commissaires during the process of preparing a new terrier about a generation later. We have not yet found this property in what appears to be the successor to the terriers Fh 120 and Fh 5, namely, Fh 123, compiled around 1455 by Petrus Mangie. The house might be described in one of the sections that we have not yet examined. Or, perhaps the notation refers to the next terrier in the sequence, compiled around 1470 by Johannes Vullieti, now apparently lost, but frequently cited in later terriers. Further study of the terriers may yield a more secure timeline and verify the relationships.
There are a number of additional references to Aymonetus Mayor between 1438 and about 1460, but without any indication of whether they refer to Aymonetus senior or junior. One possible interpretation is that Aymonetus senior had in fact died, and so there was no need to distinguish him from his nephew, who survived him. Also, there are no clear mentions of Mondetus before about 1460, which might be taken as circumstantial evidence that his father, apparently Aymonetus junior, was still alive, and thus there would be no need for Mondetus to be named as a reconnaissant or tenant. These vague citations include IB 295a/735 (1452, reconnaissances for property at Ballens subject to Johannes de Menthone), a mortgage on property at Ballens dated 17 nov 1449 (C XX 18/6), and several passages in Fh 123, including fol. 200 [197], 17 mar 1455, a parcel of 1 1/2 poses en Silliom held by Aymonetus Mayor in his own name, that had come from his paternal grandfather Girardus Mayor. If the passage is accurately stated, this would have to be Aymonetus Mayor junior, and the implication would be that Aymonetus senior had already died. There are additional sources for the holdings of the de Menthone family (the Co-seigneurie of Aubonne) that need to be examined in hopes of locating additional mentions of Aymonetus and his relatives.
As for the house at Aubonne, we found one later description that is probably the same house, in Fh 153, fol. 297, dated 13 mar 1566, at a time when the house was held by the Soudan family. The house had been held earlier by Claudaz, daughter of the late Pierre Pollet and wife of Claude Soudans, and this citation can be matched with Fh 137 fol. 850 and possibly also fol. 663, dated 07 feb 1508. In Fh 137, in Latin, we find that the property had been held "first" (at some indefinite date in the past) by Aymonetus and Petrus Mayor, and next (Latin deinde, but the French paraphrase of this in Fh 153 erroneously says precedemment !) by (quoting Fh 153 here) Pierre et Michel de Verney aultrement Mayor freres pour la moitié, and by Pierre Mayor le jeune et Pierre Sigoen son beaupere for the other half, a house in Aubonne "en la charriere de l'hospital au bourg dedans" (in the earlier Latin terriers, in burgo interiori), "jouxte la maison de François Vouchy que fut d'Anthoine femme de Mermet Jaunyn devers le vent, la maison de Jehan et Bernard Thaneys frères que fut d'Antoine Breton devers la bize, le court ancian" (=cours ancien, implying that the course of the river had changed, probably since 1508) "de l'eau de l'Armary devers la joux et la charriere publicque devers le lac". (An important point in this text from 1566 is that we do not actually know when Petrus Sigoen or Cigoen became the father-in-law of Petrus Mayor junior — the term might have been added in 1566 to clarify the connections among the parties named. In fact, this relationship is indeed mentioned in Fh 137, so the paraphrase in Fh 153 is confirmed to be accurate.) The citation for the "first" tenants, however, has not been located, and may well have been in lost terriers of either Jean Vulliet (circa 1470?) or Nicod Brasier (circa 1488?) as these commissaires are mentioned (but without explicit dates) several times in Fh 153.
However, another obscure notation, this time a marginal insertion in the terrier Fh 7 (fol. 121), compiled around 1477-1478 by Johannes Vuillieti for noble fiefs subject to the Seigneur of Aubonne, mentions "Aymonodus Mayor filius quondam Stephanodi filii quondam Anthonii Mutignier ? de Yens et Jaquete quondam filie Mermerii dicti Rossectaz de Ballens". This Aymonodus was evidently the tenant of some property at Ballens that fell into the hands of the de Collumberio family, Seigneurs de Vufflens-le-Châtel. It is even possible that this "Mayor" received his name from a family who held the office of mayor at Yens, rather than Ballens, and thus belongs to a completely different family, unrelated to the Mayor family of Ballens. If the distinction between "Aymonodus" and "Aymonetus" is consistently observed in the terriers, it may be possible to clarify the situation; however, variations in given names are frequently found in the early terriers. It is also entirely possible, especially since this strange text was an insertion in Fh 7, that the scribe was distracted and that the name Mutignier is simply incorrect, and should be read as Mayor, in which case the parents of Stephanodus Mayor might be Anthonius Mayor and Jaqueta Rosset or Rossetaz. (This citation remains problematic and possibly just wrong. It may be possible to find some echo of this notation in other terriers. In any case, it is not clear from the context whether the insertion is intended to name the "current" tenants in 1477, or at some unspecified later date.)

Cited as the father of Mondet Mayor father of Pierre Mayor in the terrier ACV Fh 137 dating from 1506. He had purchased property from Claude de Froideville at Ballens, subject to the barony of Aubonne. It is possible that the surname Monod, at first an alias in the Mayor family, is derived from his given name, or else from that of his son. The traditional, generic explanation for the surname Monod, which appears to have originated several times in the Pays de Vaud, is that it derives from the given name Aymonet. For example, the Monod family at Féchy can be traced back to an Aymonet Jaquenod, whose descendants are given the alias Monod in some of the terriers, then later called simply Monod.
As of 25 apr 1496, both Aymonet and his son Mondet had died (Fj 5, fol. 72).
In the terrier ACV Fh 137, where (fol. 421, in a reconnaissance for Antoine son of Michel son of the elder Antoine de Vernay alias Mayor, 08 may 1506) an Aymonet Mayor (no alias is mentioned) is referred to as a "predecessor" of the reconnaissant Antoine de Vernay alias Mayor, who was a grandson of Antoine de Vernay alias Mayor. The Aymonet Mayor in question here is the present Aymonetus Mayor junior, the father of Johanneta Mayor, who became the wife of the elder Anthonius de Vernay. Thus, Aymonetus Mayor junior was a great-grandfather of the 1506 reconnaissant, Antoine de Vernay alias Mayor.
It should be noted that Aymonetus Mayor junior, whose daughter Johanneta's children became the modern Mayor family, and whose son Aymonodus/Mondetus gave rise to the modern Monod family, is the latest point where the Monod and Mayor families could have had a common ancestor. The terriers and other documents that have been studied so far do not allow us to establish sufficiently precise dates in these families.

He is cited frequently as the brother of Jean George Mayor. These two brothers held official positions at Aubonne and also at Ballens. Their association with Aubonne undoubtedly came about as a result of the prestige of their maternal grandfather Benjamin Favre.
An interesting group of documents relating to Benjamin and his brother Jean George Mayor, and to the Monod de Froideville family, was recorded by the notary Daniel Marmet (ACV DK 69/1):
