He may have been the Marc Louis Mayor of Ballens, habitant at Bière, who was "commissaire" in charge of compiling a terrier at the time of his death in 1771, age about 32: "Monsieur Marc Louis Mayor commissaire terrier de Ballens habitant à Bière agé d'environ 32 ans est mort le 26 Juillet 1771 et a été enseveli le 28e dit" (ACV Eb 16/7 p. 59). There does not seem to be another Marc Louis Mayor at this period.

Parentage is problematic. Two records identify her as daughter of late Pierre Mayor (1586), but her brother Anthoine is identified as the son of Jaques (nourry de feu Pierre). It is hard to see how this could simply be an error. The discovery that there may be two Anthoine Mayors living around the end of the 16th Century, one the brother of Marguerite who died in 1595, and the other Châtelain d'Yens at least as late as 1610, suggests a solution. The first Anthoine would be the son of the elder Pierre, and the second would be the Châtelain, son of Jaques.
