Birthdate estimated from first mention in notarial records (1584). As of 1583, he is noted at 55 Rue Louis de Savoie in Morges (cadastral data, from internet site). It is possible that the name of his wife has been misread, or else that he married again. His wife Gasparde appears at a baptism in Gimel 25 sep 1603. He is noted as Chatellain d'Allemand in 1610. Records of his estate mention two heirs, his daughter Antheine and his son Imbert, so he was probably not the father of Jeanne Valier who married Benjamin Favre.

His marriage contract was recorded 23 jan 1586 by Jean Barral, notary at Morges (FHL microfilm #0896233). It gives the parentage of both bride and groom, and notes presence of her brother the notary Michel DuTruict.

He made a "reconnaissance" for property at Aubonne 24 apr 1621, at which point he was Châtelain d'Allamand.

A reconnaissance by his heirs (ACV Fh 176bis, fol. 928v, 13 nov 1633) is incomplete, lacking the complete description of the heirs. It names as the first heir his son Imbert, and, second, an unnamed daughter who was the wife of Benjamin Bégoz. Later in the document, there is a mention of "partages faictz entre iceulx Valier frere et soeur", thus strongly implying that there were only two heirs.
