In a document recorded 23 feb 1715 (Daniel Marmet, notary, ACV DK 69/18), Discret Jean Pierre fils du Sieur Operateur Mayor de Ballens acknowledges a debt to "Jaqueline Mayor femme dudit Sieur Operateur". This and similar citations show that Pierre Mayor, the "Operateur", had remarried to Jaqueline Mayor by 1715.
Circumstantial evidence suggests this is the Jean Pierre Mayor who married Anne Jeanne Barbille Guex, but no strong evidence has yet come to light. The death of Anne Guex is clearly noted (_____ Guex wife of Jean Pierre Mayor) at Ballens, implying that her husband was then still alive. However, there is no recorded death of a Jean Pierre Mayor after the death of Anne Guex before 1793, suggesting that he may have died earlier.

An important but obscure clue to his ancestry is contained in an account of the division of a woodlot called the Bois de Bourguignon in 1713-1714 (ACV DK 82/9, Jean Pierre Monod, notary, loose papers). Acting in his own name and with unnamed others (his "indivis"), he made a claim based on "droit de quart qui est la portion d'Abraham Convers", but retracted the claim apparently after settling with some of the other claimants. At first, we assumed that his claim actually related to the descent of the other claimants from Gabriel, son of Anthoine Monod.
However, the situation now seems more complicated. The titles upon which these claims were based (01 dec 1605 and 09 feb 1606, both recorded by Estienne Mayor) have not been located. But the terrier ACV Fg 159 (1678) shows that most of the property dependent on the Baron of Aubonne that was then owned by Eg. Jean Mayor, grandfather of the present Jean Samuel Mayor, had previously (1622, Fh 175) been owned by Jaquemaz Convers, widow of Isaac Monod. The same terriers also indicate that Isaac Monod and Jaquemaz Convers had a daughter Jeanne Monod. The conclusion seems inescapable that this Jeanne Monod was the one who married Eg. Jean Mayor. The father of Jaquemaz Convers was indeed Abraham Convers. We have not yet been able to connect Abraham with Isaac Convers, the father of one of the principal claimants, the minister Gabriel Convers. However, both Abraham and Isaac were the sons of a Pierre Convers who in turn was the son of a Jean Convers—but possibly not the same Pierre and not the same Jean!

Her marriage to François Fazan of Apples is revealed in a settlement with her brothers Philippe and Estienne Gabriel after the death of her husband, 11 mar 1696 (Daniel Marmet, notary, ACV DK 69/1, based on a previous settlement of 16 may 1678 "reçu Egrège Croutaz"). A further document in the same register dated 01 mar 1701 shows that Jeanne Mayor, widow of the late François Fazan of Apples, authorized by her brothers Philippe and Estienne Gabriel Mayor, was now ceding to Félix Morel and his wife Jeanne Dorothée Cuvit her claim on the estate of the late Gabrielle Morellon, wife of the late Jean Louis Cuvit, justicier de Mollens. Exactly how Jeanne would have had a claim on that estate is not clear. Jeanne's sister Jaqueline was the next wife of Jean Louis Cuvit, but that fact would be irrelevant to the succession of Gabrielle.
So far, the parentage of this Gabrielle Morellon is not known. However, it is possible she was the same Gabrielle who was the widow of Augustin Mayor. If so, Jeanne Mayor would be her niece, since Augustin Mayor was the brother of Jeanne's father Gédéon Mayor. Gabrielle and Augustin do not seem to have had any children of their own.

At the baptism of her first known child in 1672, the sponsors include Philippe Mayor and his sister Elizabeth Mayor, who are believed to be the children of Gédéon Mayor and Marthe Cloux. Jeanne might be the daughter of this couple born in 1644.

"Subhastions" (forced sales of property because of unpaid debts) were filed against her, as reported in a judicial register from Aubonne (ACV Bib 140 fol. 59, dated 04 dec 1714). This document names her father as Jean Baptiste Mayor of Ballens. She is probably the Adrienne Mayor who appears as a sponsor for a baptism at Ballens 25 mar 1707. As this is apparently her first appearance in this capacity, we might guess that she had recently passed her first communion and was regarded as marriageable, thus placing her date of birth around 1690. No baptism has been found, but there is a gap of about 10 years between her apparent siblings who were baptised at Ballens.
